Well, here we are at one year! I started my WordPress blog on September 19th, 2016.
I introduced my friend, Kelto here on September 20th, 2016. This was his first picture:
I then remarked to “I don’t know who would possibly be interested in anything I had to say” that I really, really wanted to have some funny pictures to share. And that I couldn’t create a space in which to share them.
I must say that many things have changed in that department. Scroll down as there are a lot of pictures but I do have some more stuff to say after the pictures.
What hasn’t changed is that Kelto is still one of my best friends who continues to be with me through thick and thin. Fat and skinny. Psychotic (only slightly). He still doesn’t say much or make a mess. And I still love him. He even made the cover of Vogue!
Hope, Firewood, and my Keys
I still have the picture (behind Kelto’s head in his first picture) depicting what I still consider a ridiculous phrase about “HOPE” I had mentioned I’d like to burn it for firewood but the activation of the smoke detector would be a major deterrent.
Out of respect for the person who gave me the “HOPE” picture I didn’t burn it.
A couple of days ago I found a picture related to the topic of hope:
I guess we all have that last additional bit of hope. I’m still looking for mine. When I find it, I’ll make sure to put it in a safe place. I think I’ll have it beside my keys as pictured below:

More About Kelto
Kelto was originally featured sporting a brown, 100% wool sweater once worn by my dad. My dad still does not wear it. Kelto is still about 50lbs heavier than my dad.
I then stated, “stay tuned for other pictures featuring Kelto wearing clothing that my dad can no longer fit into.” We can safely say that I have shared many pictures of Kelto wearing clothing that my dad not only does not fit into but would not be caught dead wearing.
In Conclusion
Kelto one year ago, and Kelto today:
Better lighting on the right. Bottle of Pellegrino and a remote control [pointed at a blank wall as I have no television]. A bottle of beer might have looked better, but I just don’t do beer and I don’t know any of my neighbors and me knocking on their door to ask if they have an empty bottle of beer might serve to discredit me as a normal person. Wait, I’ve already been discredited. Never mind.
Today’s Kelto is sporting a hand-made poncho from Germany. He is set in better lighting. While the couch is still in the same place, I think I have done a fine job of redecorating. There’s a bit less brown. Hmmm. That’s not really redecorating but I do the best with what I have.
And Now For Something Completely Different
I might not know what I’m doing but I do know how to iron a shirt. Stay tuned.
Thank you for visiting me in the White Padded Room. I’m not going anywhere.
xoxo, Marlies
Many great and funny photos and hugs to you and Kelto.
Happy blog-iversary!
